22nd May 2017 (Monday)

10:30 – 11:00
Title: Path to 5G
Presenter: Philippe POGGIANTI  (Nokia)
Abstract: This talk addresses the path to 5G with the trends in the data communications market, the 5G enablers, the most promising use cases but also the France positioning which aspires to be a leader in 5G laying the groundworks for research and Innovation, especially in Nokia Paris-Saclay.

15:30 – 16:00
Title: Huawei building a better connected world
Presenter: Isabelle Leung  (Huawei)
Abstract: We will focus on two things: Who is Huawei and How our R&D centers are implemented over the world and What the links between innovative creations from our R&D centers and physical devices such as a smartphone.

23rd May 2017 (Tuesday)

10:30 – 11:00
Title: The Road to 5G: Simulating and Prototyping Wireless Systems using MATLAB and SIMULINK
Presenter: Ken Karnofsky  (Mathworks)
Abstract: This talk will discuss how MATLAB® and Simulink® provide an integrated environment for simulating, testing, and prototyping today's wireless technologies. It will give an up-to-date view of how MATLAB and SIMULINK address engineers’ challenges in researching and developing 5G systems.

15:30 – 16:00
Title: 5G Evolution Revolution Reality
Presenter: Hervé OUDIN  (Keysight Technologies)
Abstract: The motivation of this presentation is to demonstrate the need of collaborative engagement which are driving the actual 5G technologies exploration work taking place and which are driving actual 5G standardization plans. Looking after possible new 5G KPI and performance point from better understanding mmWave Channel and modeling, new radio requirements and technics, new network architecture, virtualization and subsystems.

24th May 2017 (Wednesday)

10:30 – 11:00
Title: Wireless research at Leti
Presenter: Fabien CLERMIDY  (Cea - Leti)
Abstract: As a matter of fact, the research in wireless technology of CEA LETI relies on its background in Microelectronics. The research areas of the CEA-LETI are wireless communication spans from RF propagation study to 5G and IoT systems and architectures and implementation. CEA LETI is a research center which aim is the transfer of innovation to industry. Thus, CEA-LETI conducts research with industrial partners leading to real-case prototyping of its technologies.

15:30 – 16:00
Title: A Platform Approach to 5G: From Design – Prototyping – Test
Presenter: Dr Douglas Kim  (National Instruments)
Abstract: The objective of this presentation is to keep attendees up-to-date with the latest developments in 5G research. Attendees will learn about four key technologies that are driving 5G standards: massive MIMO; mmWave; multi-RAT and wireless networks. Attendees will discover approaches that accelerate wireless prototyping, using off-the-shelf software defined radio hardware alongside productive software development tools.
